Super sixes came out on a warm windless day feeling confident. Wycombe 6’s were very strong and scored the first goal putting Wallingford on the back foot initially. Everyone pulled together and Ceska scored a goal making us even. Bridget injured her hamstring so had to retire Amy was strong taking the ball up the field and the midfielders Claire, Florie and Hannah ran their socks off in a fast moving game. Georgina, Bridget and Sam held a firm defence and Evie repeatedly pelted the ball back down the field. In the second half, Sam fell over before the game even started and the game was again fast moving up and down both ends. Wycombe scored a second goal despite Claire‘s heroic efforts in goal and a close line call. However Wallingford got the ball back up with Caroline and Jo gamely keeping the ball in the D and Jodie saved the day with a nutmeg goal between the legs and we ended up 2:2. Thanks for great coaching from Mairi and Emma on the sidelines and great family support, including Ceska’s nine month old twins. Evie got player of the match and Sam got Kermit.
