The super sixes showcased their silky skills to start the 25/26 season, with an early start away at Amersham & Chalfont. Despite never having played together the team showed that they had been listening at training and had some really good one/twos, banana runs & triangular play. It was against the run of play when Amersham took a very quick 16 & galloped down the pitch to face the isolated Isla, she stoically stood her ground, but they scored.... despite a lot of hard work that was how it finished at half time.
A stirring talk from coach Mairi sent us back on the pitch with renewed energy, and 8 minutes later Ava delivered a short corner ball to Elaine, who struck it with conviction into the corner of the goal. Our defence, Evie, Liv & Nort did a stirling job of sending the ball forward, and the mids, Jodie, Florrie, Lily & Jules delivered some skilful passes to Ava, Elaine, Amy & Ange. We had 60% of the play, several short corners but the A&C keeper & defence were not in the mood to let us through!
Special mention to Amy & Evie, their first league game, they smashed it, and a big welcome back to Nort, where have you been for the last 5 years?
