Ladies 1st Team vs Aylesbury 1

WHC L1’s vs. Aylesbury L1’s

Another away match for the ladies 1s. Arriving a little rough a ready, with a few nursing hangovers, some battling car sickness and other *cough cough* Flic, arriving with a lack of shin pad… that’s right, just the one. However, this didn’t stop us from putting up a good old, quite literal 😅, fight!

A hard match, navigating an unusual opponent formation and bobbly pitch, but the challenge was on.

Lots of attacking play down the right-hand side, especially towards the end of the second half, poor Athena, Sibby and Isla were running lengths! Both channels have some impressive passages of play to the forwards, creating opportunities and dominating the pitch. Our defence, had a busy game, not just doing their amazing work in defence, but also pushing for more attacking play: even the one and only Josie was up by the goal this week!! And of course, we can’t forget the strong and central play coming from the middle, Beth leading the pack like always and this week we welcomed back the amazing Zara – a strong core for the team to work from.

Everyone gave it a sterling effort, and while we struggled with gameplay frustration and outcomes, we all found something to laugh about while walking away from a 1-1 draw.

MOM - Joint winners this week, Bethan + Sibby.

DOD - Flic for the lack of shin pad

A massive thank you to our mum-agers Alex and Jenny!! We really appreciate you giving up your time, fuel, and mental stability to get us through that game!! The hard talking tos were needed and so were the hugs!! XO
