Introducing our latest Vice Presidents

Andy Barber joined Wallingford HC during the 1987-88 season, after being introduced to Hockey at RAF Benson. Andy started playing in the 3rd X1 under the guidance of Nigel Clements, Andy progressed through the teams and eventually played for the Men’s 1st team for many seasons, later in his playing career he captained the 2nd and 3rd teams and was able to nurture plenty of young players and push them on to higher teams. Andy has coached the Ladies 1st team, various wildcat teams and the ladies 3/4s where again player development has been at the forefront of the coaching ethos. Andy’s umpiring career started whilst still serving in the RAF under the guidance of Jim Patel, Andy has Umpired at South League Level and Premier 1 as pool umpire for the Try-sports ladies Hockey League.

Carol Rees is a long standing stalwart of the club. Otherwise known as Bish or even Bish-Bosh - Carol joined the club after giving rock climbing a go. A long standing member of various ladies teams and the WHC Mixed team Carol has been involved at all levels of the club. From helping at Wildcats to playing Ladies Badger games she has always provided support to everyone at the Club. She was Secretary for many years before persuading the current Secretary to give it a go. Carol has continued to provide support to the club, not least by cooking Mr Rees his breakfast every Saturday morning.
