M2 vs Maidenhead 2

A youthful team turned up to Altwood School today, which was a nice contrast to the usual 2s team. Some amazing skill from the youngsters, with lovely link ups throughout. We were dominating the possession game, with 70% of ball ownership going to Wallingford. In the first half, they managed to score quite a scrappy goal, but nonetheless giving them the lead. We then won a short corner, in which Harry Brinson took opportunity and hit it into the back of the goal- bringing it to 1-1. Enthused by Rich's speech at HT, we were all over them, containing a lot of their attacks in their own half. We had a few opportunities, but unfortunately we could not put it away, thus the final score line was 1-1. A good game from all individuals, just unfortunately as a team it wasn’t a good day. Wallingford were the best team by far, but with a lack of short corners and a lack of shots on goal, the final score was unfortunate but appropriate.

A special mention to Harry Brinson for a cracker of a goal - only his 3rd game as well!
DOD - Ollie for having to be woken up by Rich at 11.20 - but still made it there on time...
Again I would like to emphasise the amazing talent of the youngsters that played today, with impressive skills and knowledge on how the game works! This new group of youngsters is clearly showing the quality of coaching and training they have experienced to get them to this level!
