The current guidance allowing up to 6 people to exercise outside whilst social distancing has lit the green light for dusting off those sticks and getting out on the pitch once again!
Whilst we remain vigilant and are adhering to the latest guidance from Government and England Hockey this is excellent news, and we are already planning for pre-season training to start very soon!

We are proud to be celebrating our 125th anniversary in 2019 and we will be marking our special birthday in style.
Formed in 1894, Wallingford HC now boasts nine senior teams, while our juniors, the Wildcats, will also be celebrating their 25th anniversary.
We have come a long way. The Wildcats are one of the largest and most successful junior set-ups in the south of England with more than 300 juniors playing club, county and regional hockey. The senior side of our club is also thriving and we cater for players at all levels and aspirations and is a key part of the local community in south Oxfordshire.
The first records show that a game between a Wallingford team and Oxford University alumni took place on the St John's Paddocks at the beginning of 1894. We have marked that historic match with a Vice Presidents' Day on January 19th 2019, which included a special 125th anniversary fixture between our Ladies 2nd team and Oxford University Ladies 3rd team. There was also a Wallingford HC kit and memorabilia store, complete with #WHC125 t-shirts, pin badges, cufflinks and mugs, as well as food, drink and entertainment. The party did not stop there as a race night took place at the club that evening.
Our main event event was spread across the weekend of May 18th -19th 2019. It all started on the Saturday with the ticketed WHC 125th Anniversary and Awards Ball, which also included an exhibition of the club’s history and was preceded by reunion games. There was a ‘Big Club Breakfast’ the following morning, as well as social mixed hockey and the Wildcats’ 25th Anniversary Awards, which was also ticketed. To re-live that special day, take a look at our photo gallery of moments taken during the weekend. Many thanks to David Shannon for giving permission to share these great photos.
2019 continues to be a truly memorable year at Wallingford HC and we would love to celebrate it with as many past and present members, friends and family as possible.
