More summer league success

LEAH Merryweather and Tazz Chamberlain both scored twice as Wallingford's Ladies 1/2s continued their good form with a 6-0 victory over St Edward's School.

Louise Conlon and Philippa Morris were also on target on Monday night to make it back-to-back wins in the Oxfordshire Summer League. Wallingford dominated the first half, but only had one goal to show for their efforts, Merryweather tapping home from a short corner.

We continued in the same vein after the break, but were far more clinical in front of goal. Hannah Satchwell crossed for Conlon to make it 2-0. Morris then scored her third goal in as many games with a delightful flick from a short corner. It was soon 4-0 when another short corner routine led to Chamberlain finding the net. Merryweather then added her second from close range, before Chamberlain scored Wallingford's sixth. Goalkeeper Kat Lawton was needed to make a late save, but we had already done more than enough.

On Tuesday, our ladies 3/4s continued their strong run in the White Horse Cup, beating Bicester 3-0. Kerry Whitfield, one of our graduated B2H ladies, scored twice, including a fine solo effort, with Keziah Buss also on target.
